Wrestling

Wrestling is becoming an increasingly important part of grappling. Many matches are decided standing. We have been receiving requests from our members for a wrestling class to be added to the schedule for some time now. This also turned out to be an important point in our survey. As always, we have listened to you. We have found one of the best wrestlers in the Netherlands, the Dutch champion in freestyle wrestling, willing to give the wrestling class.

And the great thing is: our new coach is not only a wrestling champion, he is also involved with the grappling elite. No wrestling tricks that are useless in submission grappling, but only techniques that really work. We are of course talking about our own Daan de Ruiter.

The first class is on Saturday April 4 at 11:00. Make sure you are there!
You can register via the app. Not a member of Haven BJJ yet? You can book a free trial class, or reserve with single lessons / a punch card.

Kids & Teens Nogi

Another addition to the schedule: a kids & teens no-gi grappling class!
More and more tournaments for kids and teens not only have matches with a gi, but also without a gi, also known as ‘no-gi’ or ‘grappling’. It is important that we are prepared for that as well. Although the sports are very similar, there are a number of important differences:

BJJ

No-gi grappling

The classes are taught by kids coaches Joran and Young Kev on Saturdays from 11:00 to 12:00, right after the kids competition training. The first class is on Saturday April 4, make sure you are there!
