Best team IBJJF Paris

A group of our athletes participated in the IBJJF Paris Open this weekend, one of the toughest IBJJF tournaments, due to the strong jiu jitsu in France.

However, they showed that our Rotterdam jiu jitsu can compete with the European elite. These were the results:

• 🥇 Kamen, purple, lightweight
• 🥇 Mootje, purple, featherweight
• 🥇🥇 Joran, blue, middleheavy and open class
• 🥈🥇 Kate, weight class and open class gi
• 🥇🥈 Kate, weight class and open class nogi
• 🥉 Noel, featherweight nogi

Kostas, Jivi, Ashley, Siddy, and Vid also fought bravely and learned a lot!

Best Team

Thanks to all those medals, we managed to secure the CheckMat team prize! Since our Havem athletes had the largest share in this, we brought the trophy home. This will have a nice spot in the gym.

Best Blue Belt in the world

Another result of the medals is that Joran is now officially the best blue belt in the world. His double gold performance this weekend places him at the top of the ranking of all nogi blue belts.
