Kevin de Waard started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2022, after his cousin had tried to persuade him for at least ten years.
In a relatively short time, Kevin has already achieved great things, both as an athlete and a coach. As Head Coach Kids at Haven BJJ, he teaches the kids classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the lunch class on Wednesday, toddler BJJ, and the intro course. During holidays, he also takes on the BJJ Fundamentals classes.
Kevin's enthusiasm is contagious. He wants to create a safe environment where everyone can learn with and from each other. His students especially appreciate the energy and atmosphere in his classes — everyone leaves with a clear mind and hopefully some beautiful new insights.
Outside the mat, Kevin works full-time as a care worker, where he takes care of a living group of young people with disabilities and behavioral problems. He is a big music lover and enjoys cooking, movies, reading, and building with LEGO. And not to forget: proud father.
